Used Firefighting Gear Goes To Aide Haiti

We have all seen the devastating destruction that has happened to Haiti since the earthquake more than a month ago. Many rescuers and volunteer groups around the globe and especially from the United States have gone to help.

One fire department in Johnstown, West Virginia is pitching in too. When their Fire Chief John Chapman returned from a mission in Haiti he knew immediately what to do after seeing their lack of fire fighting resources. Never Used Firefighting Gear Is Patent Pending

Justin Wilkinson, a firefighter from Rosewood Heights Illinois looks forward to his new rescue device that he hopes will be used in all fire departments soon. The never been used firefighting gear is a lightwweight military grade webbed device that he is confident will carry downed firefighters to safety.

"I had this dream that is finally becoming a reality." Justin says. "I'm so excited. I've wanted to do something that does that."

The contraption is made of tubular webbing. It is almost 9 feet long and resembles a long rope with two loops on one end that are offset. So far he has $10,000 invested into it and he hopes they will sell for $30 to $35 dollars each and be more efficient and improved than anything else out there.
